So after getting a comment from Kelli saying that I need to update, I am finally doing so :)
I'm in Chicago right now, I have been since Thursday. I am visiting my sister and hanging out around the area. Did some cool stuff like going to the Lincoln Park Zoo to check out the cool monkeys and do the paddleboats....too much fun!! Ate at some delicious places and did some shopping, more for others than I,lol! The thing I did ALOT of was just hitting up bar after bar (including a bar called Lions Head and the club aboveit, Apartment....looks like a huge apartment,haha! :) Hanging out with my sister's friends and my cousin rocked...NTN Trivia and $2 Blue Moons ROCK! My sister's very adorable and cute friend, Roberto, is a total sweetheart! GOD I wish I lived here,lol! But,I have Providence to look forward to...maybe i'll find my own :) What I want to find even more...not by much, haha... is NTN Trivia at a bar that has awesome beer specials :) So I wish I were smart and attended Northwestern UNiversity....gorgeous campus!!!!!
Overall, my trip has been great...sad to leave tomorrow, but at least I'll see my sister at the end of the month up in Boston. After pitchersof sangria, blue moons and afucking awesome lychee martini....I have drank enough alcohol to last me the rest of the year, haha!
Other than Chicago,things have been well. Finally finished my thing at UNF, as well as SIFE....thank God!!! Otherwise, I've just been working and trying to enjoy my summer before I leave.

I'm here...there...whatever! Just arrived last night around midnight...didn't get to the apartment until 1. I know that there is only a one hour time difference, but damn, haha!
Gotta finish up SIFE stuff today, find where I can get a visitor's pass, and then tonight...get shit faced for St. Patty's Day at some pubs...woo! DePaul boys, here I come!

Oh man...so things have been crazy, so I figure I shall update you all on it :)
My 2 eight week courses at FCCJ are ending this week with two finals exams. One of them consisting of 98 questions...wish me luck! Other than that, starting next week, I will only have one live class (French), than my online class for my Earth Science Lab. So I can't complain about school ;)
And of course...SIFE. They really mean it when they say, "SIFE for LIFE". It is practically taking over my life! I have meetings 4 days a week. Sundays Noon-4P.M. and M, W and Th from 9 till whenever (tonight, i got home a little before 1A.M). Then those other non-sife meeting nights, I have meetings for my other organizations. Also trying to get SIFE projects done for the team to write about for presentation fill up those other free days...and yes I am talking weekends.
But I'll admit, my life isn't all work, I manage to work in play time, or else I would go nutso! Friday nights seem to be TSI nights :) Hello? Tucher! As well as Sunday nights being DH and Tuesdays', Amazing Race with Linda.
So I apologize for being MIA for awhile now. That's the life of a SIFE president...if we can just win regionals, we can totally vamp it up for nationals the end of May.
Positive note: I'll be in Providence, R.I next Friday, the 10th through Sunday, the 12th, checking out JWU's campus, the city and meeting with a buttload of advisors. I am excited to check out the city I will be living in for the next 2 to 3 years :)
Then a couple days later, I will be leaving the morning of the 16th for Chicago...YES! I am FINALLY going to have a Spring Break where I go somewhere, haha! Gonna chill with my sis and her friends for St. Patty's day, as well as celebrate a belated b-day with a dessert tasting at Tru...YES!! Than Anny shall be joining me on that Sunday to hang around the city with me and stir up some trouble in the Windy City, haha!
Anyway, that's pretty much it. Like I said, I can't complain. It keeps me busy and out of trouble...it makes me feel needed. I mean it could be worse, that's all i keep reminding myself. I am lucky to have the opportunities to be in what I am now...no matter how much I will whine, haha.
I'll check back with this thing they call a journal in about two weeks to update on Providence and Chicago :)

Okay, so you guys remember the movie "Drumline"...oh come on, you know you watched it! Anyway, I am watching the Ellen show right now and she has a marching badn on there today. Apparently there really is a competition similar to the one in "Drumline" where the bands battle each other. It's called Honda's Battle of the Bands (http://www.hondabattleofthebands.com/index.html). We had some local people there...shout out to Bethune Cookman! Not only a great marching band, but also an awesome SIFE team :)
Unfortunately they weren't the ones who won. It was Clark Atlanta University and they are the marching band on Ellen, today.
This is pretty awesome! I wish I had known, I so would've gone!!!

Apparently they forwaded it onto the Miami campus, thinking I was applying there. Regardless though, they accepted me and that's all that matters....

I just want to scream so loud that I break a window. So I sent my application and my transcripts...from all four damn schools, to Johnson and Wales two weeks ago. Accodring to my tracking thing, it arrived there three days after I sent it. I called my Admin. Rep yesterday and she checked the system saying I still showed up as Miami campus, not R.I....NOT OF MY INFO UPDATED BECAUSE NONE OF MY DAMN STUFF WAS RECEIVED. DAMN MAIL LOST IT!!!! I DON'T CARE WHAT THE FUCKING "DELIVERY CONFIRMATION" SAYS!!! AND DAMNIT TO THE PERSON WHO GOT MY STUFF!!! I mean HELLO! It FUCKING says "Johnson and Wales University, office of Admissions" on the FUCKING ENVELEOPE WITH A DAMN RETURN ADDRESS.
The deadline I need to meet is Feb 6th if I want to get into the fly-in program in March...only time I have to get my ass up there to look at the school. This really sucks...BIG. Now I have to go back to all the schools I have ever attending from high school on...which is alot, and fax my shit up there.
Luckily my admin rep spoke with the Director of Admissions and he told her that if I fax all of my stuff up there to his attention, he would handle my application personally. So I am hoping that it will let me still have a chance of getting in by the deadline. *fingers crossed*
I can't find the fucking bottle of wine to drown my sorrows in, so I am drowning my sorrows in the free doughtnuts I got with my coffee today...

I would just like to thank all of my wonderful friends for making this a 21st birthday to remember :) Thank you for all of the birthday greetings you guys left on here, on my voicemail, through text message, LJ, away messages and Facebook (Yay for Birthday Reminders, hehe). You guys make me feel loved!
Let me recap Sunday first:
Christie and I went down to St. Auggy to get my birthday present and hangout there. Man it has been a long time since I've been down to St. George St....PS I love the bathrooms at the Casa Monica (hand towels!). Christie got my this gorgeous Vera Bradley Bag..with my name on it...Thanks Christie for starting my collection...yet again another thing to add onto to my "soon to be addiction"!
Supposed to go to Biscottis for dinner with my fam that night....closed. Parents said, "Let's try River City"...closed :( Then the mentioned the Chart House...I was like whoa! So thank goodness they were open! Had a FABULOUS meal :) Great scenery and awesome company...thanks for coming, Christie!
Today, my official birthday!
Woke up, had a meeting (went very well), then class. Went to Moe's and got my FREE birthday meal :) Thanks to the crew at Moe's on the Southside! Came home and my momma and daddy got my flowers, a balloon and the Kenneth Cole watch I have been drooling over for the past couple of years, for real!...I shrieked!! Then kind of chilled at home and finished up my JWU stuff. Took my momma to work, then the night o' fun started!
Had a blast tonight! Hit up the Casbah with Christie for some yummy food, my first official LEGAL drink...let me say, Tucher beer is delicious! As well as a hookah! Yay for all day Happy Hour and Half Priced Hookahs!
Then after that, we headed to the OP Ale House for some good ole fun! Met up with Diamond, Nick, Anny, Alex, Linda and Tyson. Beat Tyson at pool...something that will probably never happen again. During pool, they announced over the system at the Ale House that is was my 21st Birthday :) Everyone wishing me a happy birthday, random strangers....it was great! Lot's of drinking, eating, fun and memories...and lots of pictures that make me laugh. Linda and I were able to officially celebrate our 21st birthday together with a couple of drinks...I am still laughing at the fact that combined, our tab was $52....JUST DRINKS! Although I know I won't be drinking like that regularly, it was a special occassion :)
And a BIG thanks to my wonderful friends for paying my tab!! Shoutouts for Linda, Tyson, Anny and Alex for the awesome and delcious drinks :)
I shall list my drinks for tonight and I will say I am not drunk at all...then again, I kept eating, dirnking water and peeing throughout the night along with the drinks, haha!

Now the rest is all the Ale house from 9:30P.M. to 12:30A.M. (Keep in mind I don't really drink much):
Sprite w/ Absolut Citron, Buttery Nipple Shots (two of them), Jager Bomb, and a Skky Vodka Melon w/ Pineapple juice. I am really surprised I was able to take the shots...normally I gag, but i just opened my throat up and it slide right on down!
So yum!! I will not forget today and tonight...thank you again for helping me celebrate...really!
Gonna grab some sleep now...thank goodness I have nothing on my agenda till 2:15...wee!

I just realized that I haven't posted a REAL entry in a long time! So we'll just do a run down list to make it easier on ourselves :)
*Last semester was hell
*Managed to only get 1 C this semester...thought I was getting 2!
*Lost a friend (no, they didn't die)...but after analyzing things, was he even a friend in the first place? I don't know!
*Stressed over many SIFE related things (writing grants, reports, hosting events, etc)
*I am going to be even more stressed out this coming semester with competition being in April
*I am not taking ANY business classes this semester
My classes consist of:
-Earth and Space Science
-Earth and Space Science Lab
-Biology (Baby Bio)
-Intermediate French 2
---------------------------
Total hours: 10
*I will be on freaking science overload!
*My room had a makeover, looks so much more lively
*Had a wonderful holiday break, but that month went by so fast!
*HCA Finally let me go because the dept is fully staffed now...at least I managed to hang around for a 1 and a 1/2 years.
*And for those of you who don't know, but most of you do:
I am transferring schools in the Fall this year! I will finish up my courses this semester to receive my Associate Degree. Melanie is finally following her dream and going to Johnson and Wales University!!
After lots of thinking and realization, I don't see myself finishing out at UNF, so I am going to follow my dream and go to CULINARY SCHOOL! Where I will be receiving my bachelors degree in Baking and Pastry Arts. I figure, I can always go back for my MBA :)
Anyway, I guess that's all for now. I'll try to be good and update more.

I wish he had not talked to me the other night. Then again I could've ignored him. Anyway, yeah he was in my dream last night, given it was a nice dream to have...the fact that it was with him kind of wigs me out. It's weird though because like in all of the dreams I've had, although there was kissing in my dream, it was never on my mouth...like it is some sign that I am not supposed to be kissed anytime soon. I don't know, it was just strange. The spooning was nice though! haha :)
Part 2 to my dream was interesting as well. That thing I posted last night about "Ode to the Nice Girl", definitely had a dream about it. The guy I like had just met at a store, very cute and so sweet, said, "Could I take you out on a date?" Even though I was looking all blegh, not trying to slutify myself and what not. Although the weird thing to this dream was that the guy was 17. This dream had a mixture of events over the past couple of days. Including someone I know who just told me they were dating someone 17, another friend telling me how she met this guy on New Years Eve and he asked to take her out on a date, and that "Ode to the Nice girl".
Whoa...anyway...the dream had me going for so long that I ended up sleeping in till 2...haven't done that in so long. I don't want to do it again though. It totally fucks up my day!

Would anyone be interested in coming to a Cookie Swap Party? Each person attending would bring a batch of cookies either store bought or homemade. Then we would all just hangout, eat some other kinds of snacks, and play games. Afterwards, we would decorate boxes/bags and fill them up with the different cookies that everyone brought.
When you have filled it up, you can either keep it for yourself, or give it as a gift to someone :)
The party would be more successful if more people attended because there would be more of a variety of cookies...plus, the more the merrier!
If you guys are interested in something like this, let me know and we'll have to set a weekday evening sometime before xmas :) |
